I Was Looking for Funky Ideas for Team Building . . .

One of the greatest things about being a part of Zombie Survival Camp is knowing what a positive experience we have in people's lives. We see it in the smiling faces and the excited conversations we have with campers after they've survived the simulated zombie apocalypse. Nothing keeps us more motivated than knowing what a difference we are making in people's lives.

Every once in a while someone will e-mail us to describe exactly how Zombie Survival Camp has affected them. Below is one such letter, sent to us by Magalie Zafimehy who attended our May camp with her fellow co-workers at TFO (Télévision française de l'Ontario):

TFO Team Building at Zombie Survival Camp

I've recently had a bunch of new hires on my team and I really wanted them to feel as they belonged, as the team faces great challenges this year. As I was looking for funky ideas for team building activities for a couple of months, someone on my team mentioned the Zombie Survival Camp and I was immediately thrilled by this idea! However, I just wondered if that would only be me or if the rest of the team would also be excited by this activity, in particular since we would do this over a 2-day week-end. I was happily surprised by the almost unanimous positive answer from the team across all age groups and personal and family backgrounds: some even confessed their secret passion for zombies! The only person who initially dragged her feet eventually got into the game; by the end of the week-end, she would be the most frantic player of the team and I hear that she has since personnally signed up for more ZSC activities! During this ZSC week-end we have learned a lot thanks to fantastic instructors: how to build a shelter, how to make a fire, how to kill a zombie, how to survive in a hostile environment etc. But more importantly, we have learnt so much about each other in the team and there was no better way to discover a new facet of every team member. We have learned how to listen to each other, how to build strategies, how to identify solutions, how to make quick decisions as a team on the occasions of survival worshops or of zombie attacks. This team building week-end at the ZSC was very emotional and I am proud of my team. The team spirit was incredibly boosted as they all played the game without holding back. They now know that they can count on each other and you can feel that trust, confidence and determination every day at work. I even realized that my own leadership skills have unexpectedly improved! So I'm happy to strongly recommend the Zombie Survival Camp to any manager looking for an entertaining and professional team building activity. -- Magalie Zafimehy Directrice des Contenus Numériques Contenus Web/TV
