Subject: A Huge Heartfelt Thank You!

Eric, Dom, Deidter, Connor, Peter, Doug, and Nick:

Thank you.

I've done camping weekends.  I've done LARPing.  I've been a zombie shambling through the woods.  I've also never had as much fun as I did this past weekend at ZSC.

-  The campgrounds were beautiful and varied which made the Outbreak even more fun than the usual expected fun that comes with running and hiding from zombies.  The cabins were comfortable and cozy.  They helped create a perfect atmosphere for bonding with our teammates.

-  The workshops were really informative, and not the kind of informative like a class in post-modern colonial theory.  (Trust me!)  It was thrilling to get dirty and actually build something, shoot something, lead a team across a field in silence, or even identify a plant.  I feel that I actually learned practical skills that I can apply in different ways to (hopefully) less dire situations.

- The Outbreak... I don't even know where to start.  Even though it's a game and you know the radio messages and the news broadcasts aren't real, when presented by such a passionate team... it gets your blood going.  And then BAM!  The doors are bursting open and the zombies are here and they're hungry.  You're suddenly running with your teammates and you have quick tatters of a plan and some skills you just learned the day before, but hot damn are you running and you're going to make it.  The zombies are fake, but the experience is 100% real - the stress, the adrenaline, the fear for a missing teammate, the elation of getting a head shot or bashing in a skull.  Your talented volunteer zombies, combined with your overall narrative created a completely immersive event.

So, thank you.  You have a brilliant idea and an amazing team.  Please keep on being so bad-ass.

Alive or dead, I will be back.

Military tactics was one of my favorite things I’ve ever learned. The overall camp was amazing. So glad to have been part of this." -

Subject: Thank you!!

Thank you for putting together such an informative and entertaining weekend event.  We had such a great time participating in the collectives survival against the Zombies.  There were plenty of surprises on Sunday as many of us were not sure what to expect having never encounter Zombies before.  At lunch break, there were some missions that we wanted to participate in that we hadn't in the morning.  As time was running out, we still hadn't made it to the Kill Mart.  I appreciate that we all collected at the Town Hall at the end and each received a chance to beat up some Zombies.  Special thanks to the Zombies that let us beat them with foam weapons.  It was a great way to end the game and be able to rejoice in our success together.

The skills you guys shared with us are much appreciated.  Throughout my life I have learned many things that I hold onto as useful information.  The majority of which apply to my day to day life living in the city.  And every so often I get to pick up some new skills that may one day be fruitful, like building a proper debris shelter or properly using a bow and arrow (although this could use some more practice).  One of my life long goals is to hike the Bruce Trail end to end. Right now my outdoor skills are lacking and I am looking forward to build up my abilities to be able to accomplish even a short overnight hike with a pack sometime in the near future.

You guys are awesome and I loved sharing in your energy over the weekend.

All the best with your future events.  I will be telling all of my friends about it for sure!!
