Every camp we invite someone who has inspired us with their own survival skills to come and share their knowledge and experiences with our eager Zombie Survivalists. For our first camp of the year we are very excited to have Doug Getgood as a guest instructor at Zombie Survival Camp.
Doug has been training and teaching at some of the best survival schools in North America since 1985. He not only learns this stuff, but regularly practices it. He even slept an entire winter outside in a debris shelter in a Toronto city park. Along with his close friend and colleague Les Stroud (aka Survivorman), he ran Wilderness Voice in the early 90's. In 2001-2002, Doug spent a year alone in the deep woods, way north of Thunder Bay. He was Chief instructor for School in the Woods, the Toronto Survivalism Group as well as the United Survivalist Network of Ontario. Doug will be teaching us Plant Hacks at camp. Botanical shortcuts to survival in a zombie apocalypse.
Les Stroud filmed/produced a mini-doc of Doug's year alone in the woods.
