Back in February Deidter, Dom, Peter and our good friend Che (from the Ontario Preppers Survival Network) did the unthinkable - they jumped into a frozen river!
As part of our Cold Water Immersion class, these 4 gentlemen volunteered to jump into ice cold water to demonstrate what to do if you were to fall into the water.
With the spring melt in full swing, our local lakes and rivers can be a treacherous place. The best advice is to keep a safe distance from all bodies of water. But if you do find yourself submerged in the icy cold depths this video has some tips for how to get out.
Remember:
Step 1: Put your arms out to the side to keep your head above the water
Step 2: Control your breathing
Step 3: Find the last place you stepped on
Step 4: Put your arms on the ice, kick your feet and crawl out of the water
Step 5: Get dry and get warm!!
