Z-World LARPing

Larping (live-action-role-play) is becoming more and more popular as geeks and nerds reclaim the popular world. If you've ever played "cops and robbers" as a kid or wished you could play your video games in real life while still maintaining the ability to respawn after getting killed, larping is truly the next frontier.

Firstly, lets get passed all the lame stigma associated with larping and just know that we are talking about a new type of fun. Because it's new and many people don't get it, most will reject it out of fear. If you're too cool to have fun then please fuck off our website.

Rob Fisher (the nicest guy/scariest zombie you'll ever meet) started working on a dream several years ago. Now in it's second year, I can't express the levels of excitement and vigor we're all feeling as dedicated players of Z-World.

The story takes place 30 years in the future, after a series of cataclysmic events. War, geopolitical unrest, militias, rebels, terrorists, mutants, mystics and ZOMBIES now inhabit the Earth. Read the whole history of how SHTF and what the world is like now in the Z-World Source Book

Rob and his amazing crew bring this post-apocalyptic world to life with a chillingly real narrative. Simply put, actors play various characters and engage you in a story that involves perilous missions, often involving other actors playing as zombies or other creatures. We then have to physically fight using real padded weapons. There are detailed rules governing any physical engagement in order to keep things super safe and super fun for everyone. The game is actually run on a huge bison farm about 1hr south of Hamilton, ON.

As real apocalyptic preppers, we get the rare opportunity (outside of a real warzone) to practice our real skills in the field. Small unit tactics, clearing rooms, defensive and offensive operations, close quarters combat, short and long ranged weapons combat, tactical patrolling, all-night guards, camp fortification, resource management, special forces, callsigns, radio protocols, battle procedures are all things we do in game.

When I say we actually set up camp at Z-World LARP, we actually collect firewood for a real fire to cook on, we literally take wood pallets and tires and build up a defensible perimeter, we literally have people take shifts all night watching the camp incase of night raids by marauders. If it's hot out, we fight. If it's raining, we fight. If you're out of ammo, you rely on your machete to keep you alive.

If you have a half-decent imagination and would rather do something than watch it, I promise you that a weekend at Z-World will change your life and make you a larping addict. Who wants to live their real boring life anyway?
